Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has been killed with kindness by 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio this week.

Fangio apparently learned not to rile up Johnson by observing how the strategy backfired on Rob Ryan, his counterpart with the Dallas Cowboys.
