Scanning the Savanna: Detroit Lions Game Day Edition

Scanning the Savanna is a daily feature that brings fresh Detroit Lions and NFL related content to your fingertips each morning. Grab a cup of coffee and let’s scan the savanna together.

1.  Matthew Stafford is still healthy– Gotta love when a liability turns into an asset.  Every fan fearsStaffordis one hit away from then end of the season, which is fair.  At this point, he’s still in, and he’s been absolutely fantastic.  The former Georgia quarterback is 100-161, 1217 yards, 11 touchdowns, only 3 picks, and a passer rating of 100.3.  Those are the numbers you want to see from a number one overall pick.  Now the linemen just have to make sure he stays in there.

In the past, donning a Detroit Lions jersey and hat was akin to breaking out a pair of Zubaz and a Jonas Brothers concert T-shirt.

If not for the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers being 5-0 to start the season, we would do nothing but talk about how a Detroit Lions franchise that has never been even remotely close to competitive is off to a 4-0 start.

On Monday night before the Chicago Bears-Detroit Lions game, former Lions running back and NFL Hall of Famer Barry Sanders will announce the classic line, “Are you ready for football?” Sanders, by the way,  told the world on Twitter.
