Winning bringing out some swagger from Jim Schwartz

Is it just me or are we seeing a little change in Jim Schwartz? He is a no nonsense, actions speak louder than words kind of guy but I am noticing a lot more words now that the Lions’ actions are saying good things.

Think back to last year when the Lions were sitting at 2-10. He obviously had confidence in the direction of the team but he didn’t take the Rex Ryan route and “call his shot”. He could have talked about all the good things they could do but no one wanted to hear that in the midst of more losing. Instead he remained steadfast in his demeanor and preparation and was rewarded with a four game winning streak to close out the 2010 season.

A year later, the Lions are 4-0 with a roster loaded with talent like we haven’t seen in Detroit for some time. The winning has brought a new expression of confidence out of Jim Schwartz. The fist pumps have a little more vigor (and some choice words), he gave Cowboys receiver Dez Bryan a demonstrative display of what he thought of a replay review situation and he opened athe postgame press conference with a response to Rob Ryan regarding Calvin Johnson.

Winning is fun. If you don’t believe that, just watch Jim Schwartz.
