ESPN’s eight person “panel of experts” has made their picks for week four and the Detroit Lions are a popular pick once again. Eric Allen seems to be abstaining from the picks this week and Seth Wickersham is going with the Cowboys, but the other six on the panel expect the Lions to head into Monday Night Football with a perfect 4-0 record.
The picks may be heavily in favor of the Lions but that doesn’t mean the game won’t be close. AccuScore’s 10,000 simulations put the Dallas Cowboys as slight favorites by a 50% to 49% split.
Like AccuScore, Madden 12 simulation expects a close game. The difference is the video game sim likes the Lions to pull out a victory with a late touchdown. Here is the simulation recap:
When the NFL schedule was first released, few were pointing to the Lions-Cowboys game as a marquee match-up. Oh what a difference three weeks can make, as this is the most anticipated game of the week for many, and according to the sim, it doesn’t disappoint. Trailing 24-20 with under two minutes left on the clock, Matthew Stafford drives the Lions downfield, then delivers a 37-yard touchdown with only 1:16 left on the clock to give Detroit the 27-24 victory.
