Detroit Lions Place Isaiah Ekejiuba on Injured Reserve

The Detroit Lions’ special teams unit was dealt a blow today when the team ended Isaiah Ekejiuba’s season by placing him on injured reserve.

Ekejiuba was injured last week against the Vikings and the coverage units suffered in his absence. While officially listed on the roster as a linebacker, Ekejiuba’s spot on the roster was for his abilities as a special teams performer. Add kick and punt coverage to the list of things to watch over the next few weeks to see how the team deals with this loss.

The Lions reportedly signed cornerback Anthony Madison to fill the roster spot.
