Jim Schwartz addressed the media this afternoon, here are some bullet points of what he talked about:
- He would rather get the win and have things to improve on than to play well and lose.
- The team played as well in the second half as they played poorly in the first half.
- Not all the sacks were the offensive lines fault. The first was a snap count issue while another was the result of a receiver running the wrong route. Jeff Backus can and will play better.
- Passing to Brandon Pettigrew was essentially their running game. Problem with the running game was taking too many negative yardage plays.
- Team hasn’t played their best football yet.
- On Calvin Johnson: he’s pretty good.
- Sammie Hill has to avoid the personal foul calls but it is hard to slow down a big body like that.
- Lions expected big things from Titus Young, there is a reason they drafted him as high as they did. He is fearless over the middle and has great hands.
- Aaron Berry left the game with a groin injury. Not sure how long it will keep him out.
- Went for the field goal on first down because of confidence in Jason Hanson.
