The Detroit Lions returned to practice today but five players did not participate. Kyle Vanden Bosch got the day off for non-injury reasons, it has been previously announced that he will likely not practice on Wednesdays at all this season in an effort to keep him fresh. The other four Lions absent were nursing injuries.
Nick Fairley and Jason Fox still aren’t ready to return from foot injuries. Calvin Johnson has a rolled ankle that he is getting treatment on rather than practicing but he expects to be ready to play on Sunday. Louis Delmas landed on his hip at the end of the game against Tampa and that kept him out of practice today. His injury doesn’t not appear to be a big concern at this point.
Alphonso Smith participated on a limited basis as he continues his way back from a broken foot. Maurice Stovall was listed on the injury report because of a hand injury but he practiced fully today.
The Kansas City Chiefs placed Eric Berry on the injured reserve today so he does not show up on their injury report. Rookie wide receiver Jon Baldwin is the only Chief named, he missed practice with an injured thumb.
