Detroit Lions Rule Nick Fairley, Jason Fox and Alphonso Smith Out

It should come as no surprise that Nick Fairley and Jason Fox have been ruled out of action for week one. Neither player has returned to practice from their respective foot injuries – a step that will need to be met prior to being ready to dress for a regular season game.

Alphonso Smith’s foot has healed to the point that he was able to practice without restrictions on Thursday and Friday but will also miss the game on Sunday.

Maurice Morris and Andre Fluellen are the only other Lions listed on the final injury report and both are listed as probable to play.

Cornerback Myron Lewis will not play for Tampa while Linebacker Dekoda Watson is listed as questionable and offensive lineman Ted Larson is listed as probable.

As a reminder, the status designations correspond (or are supposed to correspond) to the following probabilities.

Out = Player will not play
Doubtful = 25% chance a player will play
Questionable = 50% chance a player will play
Probable = 75% chance a player will play
