Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz gathered his team Thursday after warming up for practice, picking an unusual time to send a message.

He clearly had his players’ attention as they stood silently in a circle around him.

Schwartz screams at his team sometimes, such as the time one too many fights broke out in a practice during training camp. This time, his delivery was more subdued.

So, how many defensive linemen do the Cowboys need?

The team signed defensive tackle Rob Callaway to the practice squad Thursday after working him out.

Despite renewed fan enthusiasm and expectations, the Detroit Lions continue to struggle financially, according to new annual revenue estimates issued by Forbes.com late Wednesday
