Detroit Lions 16, Buffalo Bills 6 – (box score)
- Anyone have questions remaining about whether or not going with Jason Hanson was the right decision? You shouldn’t. Distance, it’s there. Accuracy, it’s there. Oh yeah, he can tackle too.
- One place where the Lions depth really showed is at quarterback where the Bills second-stringer, Tyler Thigpen, looked no different than a quarterback the Lions will part ways with (probably Robinson, possibly Stanton).
- The Lions are obviously ready to let loose in the regular season. They really don’t have any lingering issues that should make anyone nervous when starting the real games. Jim Schwartz’s sideline demeanor shows that. It’s time to see what this team really is.
- It sure feels good knowing the Lions will have to cut good players to get down to the 53-man limit. It’s bad timing on the part of those guys that will get cut but it is good news for the overall depth of the team. It was fun to watch guys like Matt Clapp play hard and find some success.
