Madden 12 Rates Calvin Johnson as Fifth-Best Receiver in NFL

ESPN is making their way through the Madden 12 player rankings and recently highlighted the game’s top five wide receivers. Not surprisingly, Calvin Johnson made the cut. His 93 overall rating puts him in a tie for fifth best with Greg Jennings.

Jon Robinson includes the following note:

If there’s a young player out there who gamers can look to in order to replace Randy Moss as that freakish receiver in “Madden,” it’s Calvin Johnson. The kid’s numbers are just sick: 95 speed, 94 acceleration, 96 agility, 99 jumping, 97 spectacular catch, 89 catch in traffic, 86 route running, 87 spin, 90 juke. Man, the Lions are going to be fun to play as this year.

The only receivers in Madden 12 to rate higher than Calvin are Reggie Wayne (95), Roddy White (96), Larry Fitzgerald (96) and Andre Johnson (97). Ratings are subject to change through various roster updates that EA Sports provides during the season so it will be interesting to see where CJ finishes.
