Details continue to leak out ahead of the Madden 12 release at the end of the month. One of the latest concerning the Detroit Lions is that the will have an out-of-the-box team rating of 76.
ESPN’s Jon Robinson provides the following commentary:
The overall team number is a little low, but I can see the Lions being a popular team this year for the simple fact that this defensive line is going to give people headaches. Suh (95 hit power) and Fairley (88 hit power) are going to abuse virtual backs so bad, “Madden” might need to bring back the old ambulance.
While a 76 might be disappointingly low, it isn’t the worst in the division. The Packers lead the way with a rating of 92, the Bears follow with an 85 rating and the Vikings bring up the rear with a 74. The Packers are the game’s highest rated team while the Arizona Cardinals are the lowest with a rating of 70. The NFC West is predictably bad with no team cracking the 80-mark.
