With the 2011 season on the horizon, the Detroit Lions have a lot to look forward to, as they recently opened training camp, days after the end of the NFL lockout.
Detroit is coming off a 6-10 season, capped off with a four-game winning streak to end the year, along with a tie for third in the NFC North.
Sports enthusiasm around Detroit usually starts to wane just about this time each year. The Tigers start to do their annual fade and the Lions … well, they usually act like the Lions. But there is something about this August that just seems a little different. Maybe we won’t have to wait for the Red Wings to bring a smile to our collective faces.
