NFL Trade Market Picks Up, Albert Haynesworth and Reggie Bush Dealt

The player movement madness is no longer confined to the free agent market. Two big name players are change teams thanks to trades consumated Thursday morning.

The Washington Redskins have agreed to trade Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a fifth round pick in the 2013 draft. The move is low-risk for the Patriots as Haynesworth’s deal is not fully guaranteed as a result of skipping camp last season. If he doesn’t work out, they can cut him. That being said, the Patriots have a history of making these situations work and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it happened again.

The Detroit Lions will get a look at Haynesworth in a Patriots uniform when the two teams meet on national television in the third week of preseason play.

The Lions will play the Saints in the regular season but do not have a game with the Dolphins so Bush is now off the Lions schedule.

More trades, including a potential Kevin Kolb deal, could be made later today.

The New Orleans Saints reached a deal with the Miami Dolphins to send Reggie Bush’s talents to South Beach. Bush has agreed to a new two-year deal to make the trade happen.
