When reports surfaced that Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz traveled to meet with Kyle Vanden Bosch the moment that free agency began last offseason, I was under the impression that he was simply looking to bring a familiar veteran face to Detroit.

But what we’ve all been finding out over the past year is that Vanden Bosch isn’t just a high work-ethic guy on the field, he’s also a highly committed team spokesman off the field.

 

In their hearts and minds, the Detroit Lions believe they are a playoff team. They also believe they could be in the one of toughest divisions in football and making the playoffs won’t be easy.

 

Cliff Avril pulled up to the gate and opened his window as a crowd of reporters converged on his Escalade.

Less than 24 hours after the end of the NFL lockout, the defensive lineman was back at the Detroit Lions’ practice facility and he was pleased to see just about anyone.
