When Martin Mayhew took over being the Detroit Lions General Manger from Matt Millen, Mayhew was basically starting a new franchise. Years of bad drafts, horrible free agents, and changing ideology every year had taken its toll on the Detroit Lions roster.
Those who read the news know Reggie Rogers’ problem has been alcohol–including at least six drunk-driving arrests resulting in two prison terms, one the consequence of an auto accident that left three teens dead. Now the former University of Washington defensive end, drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1987, says he has suffered for years from brain damage caused not by drinking but by the concussions he received while a college and professional football player.
Zac Snyder got hooked on the Lions after his dad took him to a Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Raiders in 1990. The show put on by Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson that night was only surpassed by what Zac could do with Barry in a game of Tecmo Super Bowl.
