Rotoworld Releases Projection for Matthew Stafford’s Season

Rotoworld will release their 2011 fantasy football draft guide tomorrow but their projection for Matthew Stafford‘s season was made public today by Evan Silva.

The @Rotoworld_FB Draft Guide projections for #Lions QB Matt Stafford (15 games): 31 TDs, 18 INTs. 59.3%. 3,989 yards, 6 300-yd games.

As a reminder, here is what Stafford has done in his career so far:

How does the Rotoworld projection match up with your expectations?

Stafford is a difficult player to project due to the injury problems that have plagued him in his first two years. For one, it is impossible to know whether or not he will stay healthy through an entire season until he actually does it, perhaps this is one of the reason’s rotoworld went with a 15 game projection rather than 16 games (the optimist in me says it is because they expect the Lions to rest him in week 17 as they prepare for the playoffs).

The other problem is that it is hard to know where he is in his progression as a quarterback. Stafford looked very good in his limited action in 2010. Was that because he is transitioning from learning to mastering or was it a result of a small sample size? We’ll see.

I’m a little surprised to see such high numbers projected for Staff. I think if he puts up numbers like that the Lions will certainly be a playoff team.
