Ndamukong Suh wanted a shot at the test. And with one mighty lunge from him, the weighted ball traveled 50 feet — a bit farther than the 10 high school prospects had managed earlier.
Jansen, a guest instructor at the Detroit Lions youth football camp last week at Traverse City West Middle School, played tight end in high school at Clawson and made a school-record 31 catches for 420 yards as a senior. He caught 68 passes for his career, and added 202 tackles, four sacks and four interceptions on defense.
Houma native Robert Chapman Jr. played college football at Southern University and in the professional ranks.
He was a standout in college, participated in an NFL training camp and a preseason with the Detroit Lions, had a short stint in the Canadian Football League and played for a season in NFL Europe.
But he never loved football and doesn’t follow the game much today.
