Ford Field Will Host Little Caesars Pizza Bowl on December 27

Save the date, the 2011 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl is set in stone.

The game will feature a matchup between the MAC and Big Ten (pending the required number of bowl eligible teams) and will be played on Tuesday, December 27 at 4:30 p.m. ESPN will provide television coverage.

The Detroit Free Press provides the following:

“We are excited to bring major college bowl action to Detroit for the 15th consecutive year, and especially thrilled that Little Caesars Pizza will be our title sponsor for the third straight year,” bowl chairman and executive director Ken Hoffman said in a news release. “We are also happy to announce a late afternoon kickoff that should allow more families to attend and still get home at a very reasonable hour that night.”

Does anyone else find it hard to believe that this will be the tenth installment of the Motor City/Little Caesars Pizza Bowl to be played at Ford Field? Time flies.
