Fake Football Takes a Step Forward with Madden Cover Unveiling

Real football doesn’t seem to be taking any steps forward but “fake” football has with the release of the Madden 12 cover.

Sporting News senior editor Chris Littmann sent out a tweet with the new cover featuring Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis. ESPN.com hosted a tournament style vote to determine which player would grace the Madden 12 cover. Hillis defeated Madden 2004 coverman Michael Vick in the finals.

The 2012 installment of Madden will also be available in a special Hall of Fame edition featuring a bronzed image of Marshall Faulk on its cover. The Hall of Fame edition will be packaged with a trading card autographed by Faulk and additional collectible trading cards.
