Hello SideLionReport readers, allow me to introduce myself my name is Ronny Hurd and I’m a huge Detroit Lions fan and I’ am proud to say that I will be contributing each weekend for a great site in the SideLionReport. I also write for NFLMocks.com were we like to report on the NFL Draft 365 days a year. We also like to talk about College Football, Fantasy Football, and other things going on in the NFL. Saying that, allow me to tell you my Detroit Lion experience and how I became a fan.
“Ronny, time to come in for the Detroit Lions game” That was a ritual that me and my family had before a Detroit Lions game. I would be outside playing with friends and once I heard that slight pitch of my mother or father calling me in, I knew it was time for the Detroit Lions game. Just sitting down on the floor with a Detroit Lions jersey on and seeing my family all around me just glued to the TV screaming “HEY BARRY GET A TOUCHDOWN” was a really special bond between me and my family and made me realize that I’m going to be a Lions fan forever.
Little I was right, I’m still a huge Detroit Lions fan. I still watch every Sunday and now on a Monday for the first time since 2001 when the Detroit Lions faced the St Louis Rams (Sadly the Lions lost that game). I’m so anxious and excited for this upcoming season/future for the Detroit Lions. Ever since the ending of the Matt Millen era it has been bright rather than stormy in Detroit.
I would really like to thank Zac Snyder for presenting me this opportunity. Literally once I saw the email from him asking me to become a SideLionReport weekend contributor, I didn’t even hesitate, I emailed him back right away saying “I would love to” because I have been an avid Detroit Lions fan all of my life. From the little boy who used to hear his mother or father calling him in to watch the Lions game to the grown up, who is hoping to go far with his life, and hoping to be a part of his home town team possibly as a writer or something along those lines. With hard work, determination, patience, and writing for sites like NFLMocks.com and now SideLionReport.com it only makes my chances better.
In conclusion, it’s going to be a fun year and future for these Detroit Lions and I’m glad I can write about it along with the SideLionReport crew on SideLionReport.com
