Like everyone with a soul, I hope he succeeds -- it'd be great to have that Lance Armstrong-type inspiration, without (I hope) all the concerns about doping/steroids. Also, Roger Goodell is a fool if he thought he'd be received with anything BUT a long chorus of boos. Give us football, or we will all despise you, fair or not (and I say 'fair' when it comes to the labor dispute). I understand the teams reserves on taking him but I think it would be worth at least a look. He was the best linebacker in college football and has great intangibles and beat cancer.
