10. Washington Redskins: *TRADE* via Detroit Lions: DE Aldon Smith, Missouri

Actually ranking the list was more about on-field production, but take Sammie Hill as an example of finding a diamond in the rough, which is how he landed at No. 10.

The Lions ran 1,064 plays from scrimmage last season. Of that total, 633 were passes. Another 27 would have been passes if the quarterback hadn’t been sacked.

Gil Brandt has seen the mock drafts, and he doesn’t believe them.

Brandt, the analyst with the NFL Network and former Dallas Cowboys personnel czar, said during a conference call today he does not believe the Detroit Lions will take an offensive lineman with their first-round pick in next week’s draft.
