That is an extreme Detroit Lions fan

The SideLion Report twitter account got tagged on a tweet that contained something you don’t see everyday, unless you’re twitter user ItsMeMikeG.

Mike claims to have the world’s largest Lions tattoo, you can see it in the picture to the right. The folks from Guinness haven’t validated the claim but I’m inclined to believe him. I want to thank Mike for sharing his unique expression of Lions love and to put out the call for more like it.

I know the Lions have some of the most hardcore fans out there. No other fan base has had to endure an 0-16 season, yet Lions fans remain! I want to hear from everyone that has an over the top or extreme way that they display their Lions fandom. Did you name your twin boys Barry and Sanders? Have a tattoo that can top Mike’s? Is your car painted with a Lions theme that makes NASCAR look bland?

With some improvements on third down, Leshoure has the size, athleticism and competitiveness to develop into an every-down back. Displays very good burst and quickness for a big back, can get the corner and make defenders miss, but does not have elite speed. Possesses the power to break tackles, push the pile and find the end zone near the goal line, but needs to do a better job of staying low. Has the size and mentality to become an effective pass blocker and the athleticism to turn into a weapon in the passing game but is currently raw in both areas. Leshoure is a second-round prospect.

It's becoming a theme that Detroit Lions fans would very much like to move on from: hope leaving them.

With all this talk about Cam Newton and these college quarterbacks, it makes one reminisce of all the quarterbacks that people said the same things about when they were at the combine.

It’s a natural thing. Every year there is the annual ‘Who’s going first?’ debate that is always bookended by the Top 5 Quarterback Draft Busts.

After all, do you really think the kids of today’s NFL would really know who Andre Ware was if it wasn’t for that list? I mean, when else is anyone going to mention Rick Mirer in a conversation and have it be relevant?

JaMarcus Russell is a popular name at the moment to top that list, but what about the guys still active? You don’t have to be a bust on the extreme scale these guys were to be considered a bust.

Remember Rex Grossman?

He’s by every definition a bust, but because he was the quarterback on that Bears Super bowl team, he’s still finding work. And just because Grossman wasn’t picked high doesn’t mean he can be exempt from the list.  How about a Daunte Culpepper? He proved one successful MVP-esque season does not a legendary career make.

The next guy sitting on that boom or bust bubble is a guy who was actually taken really high. In fact he went as high as you can go: numbero uno.
