Yesterday we examined the 2000 St. Louis Rams, led by Mike Martz as he tried to improve a team that had finished 13-3 with a Super Bowl championship. Today we’re going to look at the 2007 Detroit Lions, a team that finished 2006 on the opposite end of the spectrum at 3-13.
Best didn’t make it a month before turf-toe injuries slowed his rookie season, but Lions coach Jim Schwartz said during the NFL owners meetings that the running back’s rocky first year hasn’t dissuaded the organization from believing Best can handle whatever size workload the Lions need.
Zac Snyder got hooked on the Lions after his dad took him to a Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Raiders in 1990. The show put on by Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson that night was only surpassed by what Zac could do with Barry in a game of Tecmo Super Bowl.
