Detroit Lions Should Target Nnamdi Asomugha in Free Agency

When we reminisce back at the Detroit Lions 2010 season, fans have the warm feeling of improvement this football team is starting to portray. It is to no secret to anyone in Detroit, or the NFL for that matter that the Lions are on the rise. Although this may hold true, especially after finishing the season on a four game win streak, there is still work to be done in this off season. The picks are in place for the draft, but with as many holes as the Lions need to fill, they may need to go above and beyond the draft and play the free agency market.

CB Nnamdi Asomugha

The Detroit Lions had a nice off season last year, picking up notable contributors in free agency such as Kyle Vanden Bosch and Nate Burleson. One guy that is really sticking out to me is CB Nnamdi Asomugha. Asomugha is arguably one of the top free agents of this off season. This year he has earned a spot for the fourth consecutive time in the Pro Bowl, and put up impressive numbers with the Oakland Raiders.

Although Nnamdi Asomugha is a top player in this years free agency market, the improving Lions may have a lot to offer to a guy of his caliber.  Detroit fans are hoping that the improvements that the team has shown towards the end of 2010 may be enough to get other players to want to come play here.

No Way. There are too many good CBs in free agency to spend that much money on one guy. You could get two high quality CBs for the price.

Oh really ? Name me two quality corners (they need really one) that are out there that are close to him ? Yes he will cost alot, but yes he is needed.

        Bazinga.

I would much rather overpay the best at a position than overpay for a good-not great guy at a position.
