Packers Clinch Final Playoff Spot

Minnesota Vikings 13, Detroit Lions 20 (box score)

Chicago Bears 3, Green Bay Packers 10 (box score)

The Packers needed to beat the Bears to get the final spot in the playoffs and they did.  Donald Lee caught a touchdown in the fourth quarter that gave the Packers the lead.  Green Bay’s defense held the division champions to only 3 points.  Lovie Smith did not rest Chicago’s starters for the playoffs.   Jay Cutler threw for 168 yards, 2 interceptions, and had a lousy 43.5 QB Rating.  Aaron Rodgers and the offense wasn’t impressive either and he told the press that the offense will need to improve for the playoffs.  Green Bay will travel to Philadelphia on Sunday, the Eagles beat the Packers 27-20 in Week 1.

Final NFC North Standings

Chicago Bears (11-5)
Green Bay Packers (10-6)
Minnesota Vikings (6-10)
Detroit Lions (6-10)

The Ross Rankings (power rankings)

1. Chicago Bears
2. Green Bay Packers
3. Detroit Lions – The way the Lions finished, I definitely think they were the better team this year than the Vikings.
4. Minnesota Vikings
