What They’re Saying About Detroit Lions Win at Miami

Now that the Detroit Lions have put together their unexpected three-game winning streak and the season is nearly over, this is a good time to look back and determine where the turning point occurred.

He stayed upstairs for nearly 30 minutes after this miserable meltdown ended, but when Dolphins owner Stephen Ross finally exited his elevator to leave Sun Life Stadium on Sunday, the disappointment had yet to settle.

Detroit, you have an NFL team again. A real, genuine, competitive (!) NFL team. The feeling in the Lions’ locker room after their second straight (!) road victory — third straight (!) win, period — was a huge departure from every postgame scene in the last decade.

A ten point lead with ten minutes to play – that’s what the Dolphins had at home against the Lions. But that wasn’t enough, as the Dolphins surrender 17 unanswered points to fall to the Lions 34-27 in their final home game of 2010.

One thing really stood out. In the waining moments of the game, late in the 4th quarter, the Dolphins were the Lions. The Lions we’ve watched for the vast majority of the past decade.
