Tonight the Vikings will host an outdoor game for the first time in 29 years. They will be hosting the Chicago Bears at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium. The game was moved to TCF Bank Stadium because of the roof collapse at the Metrodome. Snow is in the forecast for tonight’s game.
On to the game, it looks like rookie Joe Webb will get his first career start for the Vikings due to the injuries to Brett Favre and Tarvaris Jackson. Last week, the Vikings only scored 3 points against the Giants in a losing effort. Adrian Peterson was held to 26 yards rushing. Also, the defense allowed a season-worst 395 yards. They can’t turn the ball over and must sustain a running game with Adrian Peterson if they have any chance to win.
The Bears look to strengthen their grip on the NFC North with a win. If the Bears win, they will have a 2 game lead on the Packers and could put themselves in position to have a bye in the playoffs. Chicago is hoping to bounce back from the beating the Patriots gave them at Soldier Field last week.
The Bears won 27-13 when these two teams played earlier this year. The Vikings turned the ball over 4 times and only converted one third down during the game. Jay Cutler threw for 3 touchdowns and 237 yards while the Vikings only had one passing touchdown and 170 yards passing.
My prediction: Bears 24, Vikings 10
