Spreading Around Game Balls After First Lions Road Win Since 2007

What a great weekend for a Detroit Lions win.  Sealing the deal in OT is something that we as fans will all certainly take away from this long season. Despite the defense having an off game, the offense came alive in the warm weather.  Although a very tough decision this week, I HAVE to reward four individuals with this weeks game ball.

Dave Rayner:

The back up kicker had a phenomenal game.  He went 3/3 on FG’s and hit the most important one in OT.  Although people have questioned the former MSU Spartan’s leg thus far, it’s him who kept this football team in the game.

Calvin Johnson:

Calvin was key today.  Johnson was the heart and soul and go to guy in the offense, as he should be.  On 12 targets, he had 10 catches for 152 yards. Calvin kept the train rolling in the fourth quarter, as well as OT with a couple of big time catches.

Maurice Morris:

With the lingering injuries of guys like Kevin Smith and Javhid Best in front of him, Maurice Morris did his job today.  Morris provided something were not used to seeing.  With 109 yards rushing and 1 TD, Morris helped give the Tampa Bay Bucs’ a headache, providing Detroit with a more well rounded offensive attack.

Drew Stanton:

Credit is well deserved for this young QB.  He proved to the team and the league that he wouldn’t crumble under pressure.  Today was an important showcasing for Drew Stanton’s career.  With going 23/37, 252 Yd’s and a TD, Stanton played a major role in this teams unreal effort today.
