As a fan that has been to a Lions game or two each season over the past several years, I was struck by how little this felt like a Lions gameday, despite the familiar venue (and the occasional “let’s go Lions” chant). The video boards used the same graphics and videos that I presume are used during typical home games. The field was painted the exact same way as the Metrodome field with the “Vikings” in each end zone and the Viking head at mid-field.
Roary was replaced by the Vikings mascot and NFL cheerleaders made their Ford Field debut. The Vikings even brought along their viking horn blast and normal PA announcer to further the home field feel for their fans.

Zac Snyder got hooked on the Lions after his dad took him to a Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Raiders in 1990. The show put on by Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson that night was only surpassed by what Zac could do with Barry in a game of Tecmo Super Bowl.
