The Patriots and the Jets are 9-2 and both are considered to be premier teams in the NFL which makes them far superior.

They are much better than the Lions are.

The Lions gave the Jets all they could ask for.

The Lions physically pounded Brady in the first half of the Thanksgiving game and were tied after 3 quarters.

Far superior? Guess the Lions aren’t improving as much as you though if the teams that they physically punish for large portions of the games are FAR SUPERIOR–regardless of how well or poor they do against them.
