Short Week Makes for Long Detroit Lions Injury Report

The short week of preparation between games means less time for bodies to heal. The quick turnaround means the wear and tear of the previous game lingers into the next and a long Week 12 injury report bears that out.

Matthew Stafford’s injured shoulder, Jason’s Hanson’s knee, and Lawrence Jackson’s concussion will keep them out of the annual Thanksgiving Classic.

A shoulder injury landed Tony Scheffler on the injury report and he is doubtful to play.

Cliff Avril missed the last two games but was able to practice this week on a limited basis and is questionable to play on Thursday. Isaiah Ekejiuba and Dylan Gandy had the same level of participation this week and are also questionable. Corey Williams missed practice on Monday and Tuesday but returned to a limited practice on Wednesday and joines Avril, Ekejiuba and Gandy as questionable.

Jahvid Best, Shaun Hill, DeAndre Levy and Kyle Vanden Bosch hit the injury list with their various nagging injuries but are all probable to play on Turkey Day.

By NFL definition, injury report status is determined as follows:
Out = Player will not play
Doubtful = 25% chance a player will play
Questionable = 50% chance a player will play
Probable = 75% chance a player will play
