While frustration is natural given a 2-8 season, there has been increasing discontent with Schwartz among the fans as the Lions butchered end-game strategy in recent losses to the Jets and Bills. With the Lions set to host the Patriots on Thursday, here’s hoping that the discontent is coupled with a bit of reality. Hey Lions fans, have you really forgotten Matt Millen that quickly?
Ndamukong Suh, the Detroit Lions’ monstrous defensive lineman, is a virtual lock to win the award. Suh certainly has lived up to his hype as the No. 2 pick in the draft this past spring after an All-American career at Nebraska, and New England will get a close-up look at the 6-foot-4, 307-pounder Thursday when the Patriots visit the Lions for a Thanksgiving Day game.
The 2-8 Detroit Lions, sandwiched on the schedule between Indianapolis and the Jets, certainly have trap-door potential. But cornerback Kyle Arrington says the Patriots are dialed in to the Thanksgiving matchup.
The Lions have lost their past six Thanksgiving Day games by an average of 22.2 points.
Asked if he’s been impressed by Suh, Bill Belichick said on Monday, “Yeah, very much. He’s the real thing: Strong, explosive guy. [He] has great playing strength and leverage. He looks like a man in there.”
