The Lions wrapped up their week of practice and only two players emerge as definitely out for Sunday’s game in Buffalo. As expected, Matthew Stafford and Jason Hanson will not play.
Isaiah Ekejiuba has not practiced all week and is officially listed as doubtful. Ekejiuba did not play a week ago against the Jets due to a knee injury.
Cliff Avril did not practice today, one day after returning to practice on a limited basis. It will be a big blow to the Lions defense if his quadricep injury forces him to miss the game. Avril joins C.C. Brown, Chris Houston, and Alphonso Smith as Lions listed as questionable to play. While Avril missed two days of practice the other three were able to practice with limitations all week.
Stephen Peterman and Kevin Smith missed Wednesday’s practice before finishing out the week as limited participants and are listed as probable. Jahvid Best and Corey Williams did not miss any entire days of practice this week but were limited and are also listed as probable. Shaun Hill and Turk McBride were full participants all week while Kyle Vanden Bosch was limited earlier in the week but was restriction free today; those three round out those probable to start.
Linebacker Andre Davis, guard Cordaro Howard, linebacker Shawne Merriman, and wide receiver Roscoe Parrish will not play for Buffalo.
By NFL definition, injury report status is listed as follows:
Out = Player will not play
Doubtful = 25% chance a player will play
Questionable = 50% chance a player will play
Probable = 75% chance a player will play
