Detroit squandered a 10-point lead in the final 3½ minutes of regulation against the New York Jets, then lost in overtime for a fresh example of a losing habit.
To make matters worse, Matthew Stafford was knocked out with a shoulder injury…again.
Making his weekly appearance on Free Press columnist Mitch Albom’s radio show tonight, Stafford said, “I don’t think so,” when asked whether he expects to play Sunday at the Buffalo Bills.

You had hoped for the best, but it was inevitable. It’s a common affliction among pro football coaches in this town, symptomatic of normally intelligent people standing stone-faced before their inquisitors as they try to explain the inexplicable.
