Jim Schwartz Reveals Little About Matthew Stafford's Injury Situation

Jim Schwartz predictably added very little insight into the Matthew Stafford injury situation during his weekly press conference today.

He did state that Stafford’s latest ailment is a new injury rather than a re-aggravation of his grade-2 AC joint separation from earlier this season and that surgery will not be necessary. Stafford is still very sore and the Lions will err on the side of caution. The injury situations with both Stafford and Shaun Hill will be closely evaluated over the next 48 hours to determine whether a roster move is necessary ahead of their game against the Buffalo Bills.

Stafford and Jason Hanson underwent MRIs earlier today, the results of which are not yet known. Hanson is also sore but was available for extra points and short field goals near the conclusion of yesterday’s game. He appears likely to be out for next week and the Lions will evaluate free agent kickers this week.
