Woody does not expect to see the shambles synonymous with his departure. Like the rest of his teammates, he’s wary of a new energy there.

Matthew Stafford is back, the rust is shaken off, and the Lions are on a one-game winning streak. It would be easy to sit back and start feeling content with the path the Lions are on, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Sure, the win over the Washington Redskins felt great, but there is another game to be played and it happens to be against a pretty darn good team.

In fact, 31 of Johnson’s 38 receptions have gone for less than 20 yards and only one has been longer than 40. His 14.2-yard average per catch is more than a yard lower than his career average, but overall he is on pace for career highs in receptions and touchdowns.

Inside the film room at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center yesterday, the image of Calvin Johnson going up and catching passes as if it is his birthright mesmerized the Jets’ defensive backs.
