If you tune into a Detroit Lions game (and yes, I know for most people that is something that probably hasn’t happened for quite a while), you will hear someone eventually say something like, “The Lions have to get the ball to Calvin Johnson. He is their best player and they have to find a way to get him the ball.”
The score was an obvious difference between what Lions fans have come to expect and what we saw against the Rams but there was one other rare sight that brought a smile to my face.
Lions safety C.C. Brown spent last season in New York with Eli Manning, and he knows better than anyone how hot and cold the Giants quarterback can be.
The Lions have faced some of the best pass rushers in the NFL this season — Chicago’s Julius Peppers, Minnesota’s Jared Allen and Green Bay’s Clay Matthews.
They haven’t yet, though, faced a pass-rushing force quite like the Giants.
