Important Players Missing From Today's Detroit Lions Practice

A lot of fans spent the preseason worrying about the groin of Louis Delmas. It now appears we were focusing on the wrong groin.

DeAndre Levy missed another practice, casting serious doubts as to whether he can play on Sunday. Levy has played in just one game so far this year, the week three game in Minnesota, and couldn’t finish it. Playing without the man that was primed to anchor the middle linebacker position is a big blow to a defense that was going to struggle in the back seven anyway.

Tony Scheffler, Sammie Hill, and C.C. Brown also sat out.

The good news is that Matthew Stafford did begin some light throwing on the side today. It is no surprise that he did not practice with the team but it is nice to hear of some improvement and advancement in his rehabilitation following his shoulder injury, just don’t expect to see him on the field this Sunday.

One player you can expect to see back in action is wide receiver Nate Burleson. Calvin Johnson is coming off his best performance of the season and would certainly get a boost with another threat running around the opposing defense’s backfield.
