The Morning Fix: What They Are Saying About Lions Loss at Chicago

Two of the same problems continue to haunt the Lions: Offensively, they can’t run the ball and, defensively, they give up too many big back-breaking plays.

Does the NFL make the same call (no catch) if it’s Reggie Wayne making the same play to win the game for one of the NFL’s elite franchises, the Colts?

Rarely one for demonstrative expression, Calvin Johnson flung off his helmet following the afternoon’s final incompletion. He snatched the skullcap from his head and slammed it onto the Soldier Field turf, a fitting exclamation for the same old Lion torture welcoming in a new season.

The Bears may be 1-0 in the standings. But they’re 0-for-1 in restoring confidence in the minds of many who watched the season opener at Soldier Field. They barely beat the worst team on their schedule despite giving up four sacks and committing nine penalties.

When is a catch not a catch? When it happens in the NFL, apparently.
