The marquee game for Fox’s 1 p.m. time slot is Carolina at the New York Giants but the Detroit Lions regular season opener against the Chicago Bears will be seen by a majority of the Western Great Lakes and Great Plains regions. Thom Brennaman will handle the play-by-play duties while former Ravens coach Brian Billick will join him as the color commentator.
Fans in the Detroit market will also have access to Cincinnati at New England at 1 p.m. on CBS and Green Bay at Philadelphia during Fox’s late game coverage.

Zac Snyder got hooked on the Lions after his dad took him to a Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Raiders in 1990. The show put on by Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson that night was only surpassed by what Zac could do with Barry in a game of Tecmo Super Bowl.
