Announcing the All-NFC North Offense

Our FanSided collaborative effort to create an All-Division team has reached an important milestone. After much discussion between the NFC North lead bloggers and a few fan votes, we have come to a decision as to who is deserving of representing the NFC North on the offensive side of the ball.

The Detroit Lions are surprisingly well represented. Despite having never played a down in the NFL, Jahvid Best won the poll to “play” along side of Adrian Peterson quite easily over Matt Forte and Ryan Grant. Thanks to the Bears site, Bear Goggles On, for hosting that poll.

Calvin Johnson was a unanimous selection to “start” opposite Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers while Jeff Backus had the respect of the rival NFC North bloggers to earn his spot on the roster.

The Green Bay Packers lead the way with four selections to the All-NFC North team while the Lions and Vikings finished with three apiece. Center Olin Kreutz is the lone Chicago Bear to make the cut. The full offensive roster looks like this:

QB: Aaron Rodgers – GB
RB: Adrian Peterson – MIN, Jahvid Best – DET
WR: Calvin Johnson – DET, Greg Jennings – GB
TE: Visanthe Shiancoe – MIN
LT: Jeff Backus – DET
LG: Steve Hutchinson – MIN
C: Olin Kreutz – CHI
RG: Josh Sitton – GB
RT: Mark Tauscher – GB

The roster is sure to spark some debate. If you feel the need to call someone an idiot, click here. Otherwise, let me know what you think and stay tuned for the All-NFC North defense. The FanSided network will begin the division vs. division battle later in the week.
