Congratulations Michigan State Spartans on yet Another Final Four Appearance.

It was a super exciting game, the Vols played tough; holy hell that is a talented squad. But the gutty Spartans hammered on through sans our star due to injury. I’m in disbelief at how awesome this is is. It was just a fabulous display of coaching by Izzo, I don’t think there is a finer coach, especially if you want to factor the last 12 years or so.
What’s that, 6 Final Fours in 12 Years? That’s ridiculous.
Feel good Spartans! It’s all buttery sauce from this point on; Hell, it’s been an amazing run since they beat the Terps last [...]

SLR Podcast Special Edition: Jennie With AXE

AUTHOR: Kevin Ferguson | IN: Lions, sidelionreport podcast | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s slow goings until the Draft so I lined up a special guest; As I’m sure you know I scored and interview with Matt Stafford from the people on the AXE Hair Action committee… Jenny is in charge of the social networking media aspect of the product. It was just an interesting chat, no hardcore sports talk at all actually… Come to think of it, I should have had her fill out my NCAA Bracket. Hindsight… LOL.

and HERE are the AXE challenge videos we were talking about

Larry Foote Wants To Get Back To a Winner

I really didn’t see the value in him and I didn’t trust that deal at only one single season. I called him the Steelers Trash and it pissed a lot of people off; All I can tell you is that when we went 0-16, our defense sucked. And last year after we signed such a “Big Time Free Agent” like Foote, our defense sucked.
Was he better than anything we had at the time? Yes. But that’s like being the prettiest waitress at Denny’s. Just because you’re the best in this little pool here, it doesn’t make you good. Cap [...]

HUGE Day Today As Far as Free Agency Goes

Best DE we’ve had since Porcher; We Popped a trade with Cleveland and fetched a respectable Wide Receiver.
You can’t butter your bread on free agency, but you can certainly plug a few holes and I can honestly tell you that the team is instantly better today. Don’t plan the parade yet, but we’ve definitely upgraded a handful of positions.
I said that Mayhew’s legacy will be defined by Matt Stafford’s career.
WELL… so far the kid is a hit. He was down there in Miami and everyone loves him; Mayhew has pulled off more valuable moves than Millen did [...]

So… With The Combine Starting Let the Speculation Begin; Also USA Hockey Hangover

AUTHOR: Kevin Ferguson | IN: Draft, Lions | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Olympics is over, I’m like… hungover on the final hockey game.
Canada won the second match up, fair and square, I’m not going to piss and moan and do that “the better team didn’t win” crap because I hate that stuff. BUT the thing that has really gotten under my skin is the media whipping out the knee pads and getting on sydney crosby. Is he a talented hockey player? Sure. But the media are declaring him the best hockey player since Gretzky… I don’t think that’s a good bet yeah (LOL).
First off the MVP of the Olympic Hockey run is [...]
