The Day That Lead Me To Question My Evaluation Of The Lions 2009 Draft

At the very least the Stafford Pick.

yeah, I didn’t like the QB first overall thing. BUT…

The Lions are starting to look like the smartest guys in the room. The Texas vs Okie matchup really highlighted this.
Colt looks … mediocre at best. Unless he picks his season up by its boot straps, he’s gone from a top 5 pick to a 2nd rounder in my mind. And as for Bradford?
Two Words:
China Doll

If college tackles can break him, pro tackles will crush him to pieces.

Bottom line is that I felt these two guys were the front runners to be the NFL Quarterbacks of the future and now… Yikes! they kinda suck. go figure.

At first I was like WHY DID WE TAKE A QB
and as of about 5pm Saturday I’m like WOW I’M GLAD THEY TOOK A QB

Can’t win them all.

Go Lions, break this god awful Green Bay streak.

We shouldn’t have picked a QB because there probably will be a better QB in the draft this year and, no sense picking a rookie QB only to have him suffer a knee injury because of a weak OL not able to protect him, thus flushing $42 large down the drain.

Let’s hope the knee injury isn’t serious, but as elusive as everyone is about Stafford’s condition, I smell a problem.

Even with Stafford and even with Calvin, we still can’t win games because we have no OL, no DL, and our secondary plays football in name only. If we were playing flag football, I’d say were looked like the smartest team, but in the NFL? Put down the Kool Aid. As you said about Sam Bradford, I’m begining to worry that Stafford and Calvin are the China Dolls, and if I had any hair, that thought would make it stand up.
