My Biggest Podcast Yet!
I got Jim, a.k.a. Truthseeker, lead blogger for RiggosRag.com which is the Fansided.com Washington Redskins portal.
After your NFC North Rundown and the buzz I’ve got from actually winning a game, Jim and I discuss a little bit of everything about the up and coming Detroit Lions and exactly what is brewing in the kitchen over at the Redskins House of football. If you want shocking, Jim thinks the ‘Skins are going to fire Zorn by the bye week. WHOA! He might get Mooch’ed!

Hey Ernie Sims, you are officially on notice. I know you want to play this Sunday against the Bears and I would too after watching rookie linebacker DeAndre Levy mop up any loose Redskin in his vicinity during the Lions 19-14 win.
Sims is one of the last remaining players from the Moron era and in fact the only draft pick from 2002-2006 still on the squad. That’s a lot of stink to rub off. Sims has been a reliable starter, a good clean-up hitter and an energetic leader thus far in his short career in Detroit. He’s also been reliable [...]

title pretty much says it all. We need them, there is no doubt about that.
I’m watching the Tigers right now, editing what will be my biggest podcast to date. No Jen this time, but I can do one better because I’ve got a nice post game interview with the Lead Blogger for RiggosRag.com , our Fansided.com Washington Redskins portal. Sorry I haven’t updated since the win on Sunday, I thought our new guy was going to chime in so I didn’t prepare a post. He hasn’t but whatever, let’s move forward shall we?
We’re down 2 – 0 going into the [...]

The Second Longest losing streak in the history of the game is officially over.
This is the first time I’ve fired up word press to write about a win. Like… I don’t know what to do. This is unfamiliar. I must say, feels good man.
I would have preferred to see some better offensive play in the second half, but the bottom line is that for the first time in what feels like a million years, they executed. They held the Skins down when they needed too, but I feel that were the Lions better developed, this would have been a 40 [...]

As of yesterday, there were 10,000 unsold tickets
The deadline is this afternoon, the NFL will only extend it if the franchise is close to selling out. 10 k unsold is not close to sellout so the game will most likely be blacked out.
You can stream it from various places on the internet, its usually god awful and unwatchable.
97.1 FM will be broadcasting it, Dan Miller does a fine job, sadly though if you’re out of market, you can’t stream it online it’s terrestrial signal only (I think Sirius Satellite has it available).
Supposedly the game will be available for streaming 72 [...]

SIDELIONREPORT.COM podcast for NFL Week 2 !!!
OH YEAH BABY! It’s Why the Terrorists Hate us.
Decadence!
NFL Week 2 saw Eli Manning stick it to Tony Romo and the Colts win Monday Night only having the ball 15 minutes of the game. Lions lose again (HAHAHAHA 1-26 since we beat Denver 2 years ago) and we look forward to many, many more.
There wasn’t one last week. Well… There was. But Jen and I were hammered and I didn’t post it. Why? Y’know that thing when your buddies are drunk and you are annoyed by them if you are sober? Yeah that’s [...]

I feel bad for Jeff Backus. I really do. Along with fellow Detroit offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, Backus has the unenviable distinction of being the main “link” that traces the Lions from a team on the brink of the playoffs in 2000 to the present day disaster.
Backus was the first draft pick taken during the Matt Millen tenure, deemed at the time a consolation prize because the player Millen wanted, Steve Hutchison, was drafted one spot earlier by Seattle. While Hutchison (a great friend of Backus going back to their playing days at University of Michigan) ascended to future Hall [...]

It was an 8-yard Steven Seagal-like fat Glimmer Man of hope when…
Calvin Johnson was on the receiving end of Matthew Stafford’s first NFL career touchdown dart in the the Lions 27-13 loss to the Vikings. Stafford-to-Johnson (Calvin, NOT Bryant) has the makings of a surefire combo when the Detroit offense is in rhythm. Speaking of Bryant and the other receivers (Dennis Northcutt, Yamon Figurs), they need to haul in a few catches so the safeties aren’t automatically drawn to Calvin on each snap. If the other receivers don’t start making some noise, opposing defenses will quiet Megatron and stall [...]

If there ever was a game that the Lions could pull an upset off and stop this 19 game losing streak, it’s right here.
Don’t get me wrong, the Vikings are substantially better than us. But to me it comes down to one player: Adrian Peterson. Farve may be getting all of the attention, but let’s face it: They weren’t winning that game last week without AP putting up 180 yards on the ground.
Here’s the thing that scares me: The Saints put a 120+ on the ground via a guy they picked up on waivers. We gave up 500+ [...]

There were 4,000 outstanding tickets yet unsold and no word from the Lions as to the progress made before the deadline on Thursday afternoon.
I’m not ready to endure yet ANOTHER season of black-outs. It’s annoying and frustrating. Why the NFL can’t loosen it’s policy in this bad economy, I can’t tell you other than money. And even that doesn’t make much sense, aren’t they losing a ton of money with the commercials during the game not being aired?
The bottom line is that had the Lions won in New Orleans or looked a little bit more… formidable, this game would have [...]
