With their first round picks they take mathew stafford and brandon pettigrew. ok I can understand Mathew stafford because no team can really be a team without a quarterback and the lions havnt had a quarterbak to speak of in years. However what good is a quarterback without an offensive line. The lions second pick of Pettigrew is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard of. Why they didnt take a reputable tackle that could protect stafford is beyond me. With the rest of the draft being just like the years past, one bad pick after another, it begs the question of weather or not the Ford's want the team to suck so bad that they can sell them and get them out of Detroit. We had oppurtunities to get a bad ass linebacker out of USC or Ohio State depending on ur preferences, and we wasted our picks on bullshit bench players. Well it looks like we are primed for another losing season with no hope in site because the powers that be (head coach, owner, and GM) can not make a good choice if there mothers life depended on it. Any regular Lions fan could have pulled the trigger on players that would have been worth building a team around, but the ones pulling the strings must have performance issues or something.
