Foster signed yet another 1 year deal (I think this makes it offensive coordinator number 3 he’ll be working with since his being traded to this team) and this means that Offensive Line is not a need that the Lions are going to address in the NFL Draft… At least, not at first overall.
Yet again, all signs point to Stafford. With Cutler gone and the Lions committing to a Veteran Lineman (with spotty performance at best I might add), clearly they are leaning towards using number one for a franchise QB.
I don’t really know what they see; I don’t think that Stafford is the hottest thing to come around since sliced bread. Yes he’s talented and his physical stats are where the rubber meets the road, but he wasn’t enough to get Denver interested in last weeks Cutler sweepstakes.
I was hoping for a big tough lineman or a defensive player, but it looks like we’re going the route of the ever so risky, super expensive and hopefully franchise caliber Quarterback. This is the state of the franchise right now and the new guy has chosen to roll the dice.
I still can’t help but feel as though the guy that made Cassel the instant name brand that he is looked at Stafford too and when the offer was on the table, he and the Broncos organization said “next offer please”.
