And surely that will happen, especially considering that they are playing one of the best teams in the League.
That’s a long time to not even take one; I remember the last one, it was against the Brett Favre Packers in 2003 and I had the pleasure of being there when Mooch had that team looking pretty good in, for the entire Millen era, the only national exposure the Lions receive all year. When they lose this Thursday, that will make 5 straight nationally televised Thanksgiving losses, often very embarassing in nature (Falcons… Colts… Yeesh). 5 years! Soak that in. There are young people that started college in 2004 and saw that win their senior year of high school; They are about to graduate from College and the Detroit Lions haven’t won on turkey day since.
There is no reason to wonder why there have been 3 straight blackouts due to poor ticket sales. Hint: It’s not the economy. People love football. If there was a team on the field, they would find a way to afford, people would come to those games. The Lions have bred an generation that have grown up without pro football; the ones that do watch and enjoy NFL don’t follow the Lions, they follow the Pack or the Giants or the Pats or the Colts. To them, the Lions “don’t count”. They aren’t a home team. Hell, they aren’t even a Pro team.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day, Be safe out there tonight (the biggest bar night of the year), get a cab or a ride from someone else if you have to. We’ll see how bad it is tomorrow.

Ford Motor or the Lions?
