Wide Receiver Roy Williams and a 7th round draft pick have been traded to the Dallas Cowboys for their
1st, 3rd and 6th round picks.
Huge deal for the Lions, the Cowboys grossly overpaid.
Also typical Lions, they were singing from the rafters about how WIlliams is not on the trading block and saying that they have no intention of shopping him around. Jerry Jones apparently got obsessed with Roy and felt he needed him in Texas. He didn’t mind sweetening the pot for him.
AND in other news, John Kitna has been placed on IR. This is a disrespectful move on the part of the Lions and really shows how they lack class in dealing with veteran football players. Aside from the team being consistently and inexplicably terrible and finishing last in one of the weakest (if not THE weakest) divisions in Pro Football, the Lions just fail to do players right. If they really wanted to get rid of him and move on, if they felt that as an organization it was over with him, waive him. He is not young, the right thing to do would be to offer him the opportunity to play somewhere else. New England would scoop him up or whatever. Making him sit out a year is just not right and that’s why you have to pay so much for less than elite caliber free agents.
